Section 1 Jones Family Detroit
Article II. Purpose:
Section 1. The purpose of this organization is promoting the well being of family.
Article III. Members:
Section 1. The membership of this organization shall be family and friends of the Jones Family. Full voting Membership will be granted to family members that are paid in full for an entire year from August to August.
Section 2. Jones Family Reunion dues shall be set by the eligible dues paying members of the Jones Family at the regularly scheduled meeting in the month of August.
Article IV. Officers:
Section 1. The officers shall be a President, Vice President, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer, Historian/Parliamentarian, Financial Secretary and 2 Board Members.
Section 2. Term of office. There are no set number of years a President can serve in succession. A President shall serve until he/she is ready to relinquish their post or family reunion members vote them out of office. In which case, a successor shall be named.
Section 2. The Vice President shall assist the President.
Section 3. The Recording Secretary shall keep records of all proceedings at all business meetings.
Section 4. The Corresponding Secretary shall assist in all family correspondences.
Section 5. The Treasurer shall receive, receipt and deposit all monies and assessments from Jones Family Reunion members.
Section 6. The Financial Secretary let everyone know where the finances are coming from, where they are going, who has been paying, who hasn’t been paying, and any other vital and essential information regarding finances. He will make sure a copy of this report available for all members to take home, read at their own leisure and ponder
Section 6. The Historian/Parliamentarian shall compile and research all Jones family history and b. Shall interpret the by-laws of the Jones family constitution.
Section 7. Board Members a. shall gather and disburse information to family members of that region or city. b. Make reports to President.
Article V. Election of Officers:
Section 1. The election of officers shall be held whenever a vacancy is created.
- Voting for officers shall be done by a show of hands at the regular business meetings.
- The election of officers shall be an agenda item of the family business meeting.
- Voting members of this organization shall be members as defined in Article III.
Article VI. Dues:
Section 1. Dues will be collected at the regular scheduled meeting each month.
- a. Dues collected are assets of the Jones Family Detroit and are to used by the Jones Family to conduct Jones Family business.
- b. When hosting the family Reunion 2 adult registration fees will be paid for by Jones Family Detroit for each paid member equal to the amount of one year paid dues.
- c. When hosting is done in another city Family Reunion Detroit will determine an amount that will be used to pay reunion fees for each paid member attending the reunion.
Article VII. Meetings:
Section 1.
- a. A business meeting shall be held on the first Saturday of every month at 6pm. The host or chairperson shall determine the time and place.
Section 2.
- a. A quorum shall consist of five family members present at the announced time.
Article VIII. Order:
Section 1.
- a. The proceedings and deliberations of this organization shall be governed by the Jones Family Detroit by-laws.
Article IX. Amendments:
Section 1.
- a. These by-laws may be amended or altered at the regular schedule business meeting by a simple majority vote of members present provided the proposed amendments has been submitted to the Board in writing at a previous meeting.
